This session will focus on changes in perspectives and methodological approaches in writing and teaching history of Eastern Europe since the collapse of Communism.

It includes a conference discussing the following topics in separate panels: National narratives; History of Empires; Stalinism; Intellectual History; Patterns of Modernization; History of Media and Communications; History of Science and of Cultural contacts across the Iron Curtain and also possible is the session on Religious Studies.
