The session purposes to discuss the evolution and future prospects of network industries (electricity industry, gas industry, telecoms, etc) in transition countries.

Using the knowledge from microeconomics and regulation economics it will concentrate on the following topics: market opening and competition, regulatory framework, ownership structure, effects of accession and the theoretical discussion will be illustrated with case studies.
