BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
– Under the direction of the Information Officer (IO), incumbent is part of a three-person team of information assistants providing expert knowledge, analysis, in-depth assessment, and monitoring of the Romanian media (in this case principally the broadcast media), to the IO, the Public Affairs Officer (PAO) and the Front Office.

– Incumbent maintains highest-level contacts with media owners and managers,
and relevant government officials, and keep fully abreast of media activities and related legislation.

– Keeps IO/PAO informed of news, complex broadcast media developments, identifies
candidates for exchange programs and develops media training programs.
Also assists with USG speaker specialists on programs within the broadcast realm.

– Disseminates to the Romanian media relevant USG produced material and other
information on U.S. policy and mission activities in support of Mission Plan goals.
