
The Summer School will last two weeks from Monday 04 to Friday 15 September (arrivals on Sunday 03rd of September and departures on Saturday 17th of September), for a total of 10 full working days.
The Summer School is based on an intensive residential programme, the first week (04 – 9 September) of which will take place in Innsbruck (Austria), the second week (10 – 16 September) in Trento (Italy).
On the 10th of September, there will be the transfer to Trento, which is 2 hours-train journey far from Innsbruck. There are several trains each day in both directions.

The Summer School seeks to analyse the development of a European Public Space in our continent, with a multi-faceted set of policies. The School will help foster analysis, research and discussion on this issue, aiding the understanding of the complexity of the question of the social construction of Europe nowadays and how the EU is responding to the challenges of these last years. Employing a multidisciplinary approach, the Summer School will involve some of the most important scholars in the field from several European countries. It will address a broad range of issues, which include:
• European Constitution;
• European Integration Theories;
• European Foreign Policy;
• Social Movements in Europe;
• European Public Communication;
• Media and the Emerging European Public Sphere;
• Ethnic Diversity in Europe and Sub-State Nationalism.

Admission Procedures
The Summer School targets MA, PhD students and young researchers. Candidates must have a strong interest and some background in the School’s topics and be fluent both in spoken and written English, as it is the working language of the Summer School.
The number of participants is limited to 30.
Ten scholarship will be granted to particularly deserving students who come from one of the Countries included in the official list of Developing Countries made by World Bank.
